Today is International Literacy Day. The Guide picks three NGOs working in education, so that you can make a difference to someone's life

Pratham
Being one of the largest non-governmental organisations in India, Pratham's contribution to the field of education is widely recognised. You can volunteer to teach children or help out with projects. The organisation has a wide reach and works to increase enrollment in schools, enhance learning in communities, and reaches out to children, who are unable to attend school.

Atma
If you think you don't possess the skills to teach, but would like to contribute to the field of education, volunteer with Atma. They work closely with other NGOs to help in capacity-building, training and implementation. If you volunteer with them, you can design projects, help design curriculum and make videos or brochures to encourage the spread of education.
