Ratan Pratap Singh
Tv host turned actor Ratan Pratap who is admired for the way he conducts himself in front the media and public, breaks the myth of perfection. In an exclusive interview with Mid-day, Ratan speaks about public's expectation of a perfect and happy image and the pressures that follow.
"Just like every other human being, I have my good and bad days. There are times that I am evidently upset or low. It's not easy to put on a show all the time and it does bother me sometimes to see my pap pictures with captions like I was seen in a bad mood etc. I am not blaming them, they are just doing their job, but that puts unnecessary pressure to look happy and excited all the time, which is not possible for anybody. I think it's a part and parcel of being in the public eye and it's something new for me but I am getting used to it," Ratan said.
It is known that Ratan was raised by a single parent and has faced several struggles early on. Speaking about the same, he elaborated, "I wouldn't say I've had a rough childhood. I was raised by my father and my grandmother after my parents separated. I was a year and a half at the time. Our house was different compared to the ânormal'. But I was really loved by my grandmother and I owe her everything today. She passed away a few years ago. My father did everything in his capacity to give me all that a child needs growing up. I've gotten the best upbringing possible due to him. Having said that, there were also difficulties in the way that have left their scars but with the help of my dad and grandma I've dealt with it all. Ghosts of the past don't bother me anymore. I am in a very good place".
According to several reports, Ratan Pratap is gearing up for his acting debut. "There is no announcement from my end. Let's see how things pan out in the future," he concluded.
