Conservation campaigns have often relied heavily on photography. Photographs and videos make wildlife more visible and relatable to people all over the world, particularly to those who might never see a lion roar or leopard sprint in person. With so many species on the verge of extinction, conservation and recognition are more relevant than ever. Wildlife photography has an immense influence on the conservation of wildlife habitat. Documenting the species and their habitats not only increase awareness but also educates the beauty and vulnerability of wildlife and the need for wildlife conservation.

Wildlife photographers are helping to raise awareness by photographing animals in their natural habitats. One such widely celebrated wildlife photographer is Bhasmang Mehta. A former industrialist turned wildlife photographer, who comes from a family of physicians, discovered his artistic side in 2002 and went on to pursue a career in wildlife photography. After almost 11 years as an industrialist, he decided to pursue his passion. He has taken several breathtaking photographs of wildlife over the years. With genuine concern and will to conserve wildlife, he used his skills to influence people and take action towards wildlife conservation.

Bhasmang has worked as a professional wildlife photographer for more than a decade now and has mastered the art of capturing the wild side of nature through camera lenses. His work is also highly regarded by major media outlets. Lonely Planet, Bombay Natural History Society, and several other prestigious magazines have published his work. And he is willing to share his expertise in wildlife photography with you. Bhasmang along with his wife Zankhana started a company called Wildlife Sojourns. They organise wildlife photography learning tours where one can get hands-on experience of wildlife photography. In the last three years, they have held more than 75 photography workshops in 11 national parks across India.

There is no one-size-fits-all approach to being a wildlife photographer. You can begin as soon as you get your hands on a camera. Beginners can start by observing their surroundings and start photographing common birds and animals. Bhasmang's wildlife tours are a good way to start the wildlife photography journey. The only essential one need is love and care for the animals to be a successful wildlife photographer.
