'I'm in love with a girl who wants to stay single'

I proposed to her recently but she flatly refused. Apparently, she wants to stay single. She later told her parents about me and they complained to my folks and created a scene at my place. What should I do?

Dear Sonil,
This girl just played with your emotions and you assumed that she, too, had feelings for you. You were planning a future together while she had other plans in her head. Now she suddenly wants to remain single. Worse, she carries tales about you to her parents who convey it to your folks. You cannot trust this girl and, more importantly, she is not worthy of your love. Get going in your life and let her be. I am sure you will find someone who will respect you and reciprocate your love.
