I agreed to the arranged marriage as I wasn't into a relationship. Now a distant relative tells me that the guy had an affair in the past and then broke off. Should I tell my parents about this or should I confront him directly?

Dear Marina,
This distant relative only wants to create trouble. Why is the relative telling you and not your parents? Moreover why was the person quiet when the alliance was being fixed? And it's amusing that the relative is even telling you that he broke off with the girl. Remember that guy was single so there may have been someone in his life. But there may have been reasons they parted ways. At the moment he is single, so that is what should be important to you. If you have doubts, casually ask him. If he is honest, he will tell you over a period of time as both of you get to know each other. I don't think it is a reason to be alarmed. You should also tell your parents what this pesky relative has been saying.
Diana will solve it!
