'My single status is posing a problem for my pals'

23 July,2013 11:40 PM IST |   |  Dear Diana

Dear Diana, All my close friends are either married or in a relationship. They think I'm just floating around at 27.

I am called the odd man out. I have never been in a relationship so I don't understand what the fuss is all about. They wonder why I have not fallen in love and want to settle down like them.

Dear Amrish,
Your friends may express their concerns about your singledom because they want you to be like them. But you are not in a race with them to get hitched and just because they are, you also have to do it. At the same time, no one wants to be the last single friend. Hanging out with them will be a nightmare as they will have their girlfriends/spouses with them while you are alone. This should not however affect your friendship with them. You can't force yourself to fall in love. Love just happens. Next time any of your pals admonish you for your single status, tell them not to despair for you as you are also happy like them. Meanwhile be in a single and ready to mingle phase.

Diana will solve it!
