Dear Diana,
I'm disappointed, confused and don't know what to do with myself. I sound silly but it's true. I never thought my life would come to a stage where I'm at presently. I am 54 with a well-paid job and two daughters. I stay alone while both of them are pursuing higher studies abroad. My husband left us quite a long time ago. It's terrible to live like this at this age doing the daily chores and leading this life. I'm wondering what to do about my loneliness.

Dear Padma,
You seem to be going through old-life crisis. It happens amongst several women when the children have grown up and lead their own lives. As you are a single mother, you are feeling the vacuum more. A crisis of this nature can mean different things to different people. For some, it is a time to put up your feet and relax. To others it is a time to do things they never did in their lives. It is up to you to make what you want in your life. You need to get out and have a life. There is no point wallowing in self-pity. You are financially secure so money is not an issue. Cherish every day and live for the moment. Enjoy what you have, remember there are many out there who are worse off than you. Travel. u00a0
