It appeared okay initially but after several weeks of this hyper-indulgence, I've not only gained considerable weight but also feel terribly down most of the time - especially when I'm not having anything to chomp on!

Dear Persis
There's scientific evidence of a link between chocolate and mood. So your cravings are justified. People with depression eat more chocolate and apparently researchers have found no such relationship with other foods. You are considering it as comfort food. Too much of anything, however, is bad for health. Remember chocolates spell sugar so you might just land up with health problems like diabetes! Take control of your life. Don't let your life be a mess due to that jerk who you broke off with. Remember he was not worth your love. Try curtailing your consumption though and for starters try switching to sugar-free chocolates till you can control the cravings.u00a0
