I amd 21. My girlfriend and I recently got into an argument... we have been dating for three years and we have been arguing a lot lately

Dear Diana,
I amd 21. My girlfriendu00a0 and I recently got into an argument... we have been dating for three years and we have been arguing a lot lately... she said during our last argument that she could do anything and I would come crawling back to her. I don't want to break up but I don't want to be walked on, and taken for granted either.

What do I do? Also I have another question. Am I overreacting about her constantly telling me she is going to do something, then later she comes up with an excuse as to why she didn't do it. She says the right things but then doing them is a whole different thing. What's going on here?

Name withheld on request

Dear Friend,
You have officially been called a doormat by your girlfriend. And that fact that you won't dump her is not working in your favour. At all. What do you do? You dump this arrogant, self centred,u00a0 unkind, uncaring excuse for a girlfriend and move on.

The only way now to retain your pride and manliness is to dump her, otherwise you will prove her right. she will continue to treat her badly, and you will still be with her. What happens if she continues to lie? What happens if she cheats? How much more poor treatment will you accept?
The time has come to move on from her and find a better class of girlfriend who will respect you and your kindness, not treat you like dirt.

Why do I wake up 'erect'?

Dear Diana,
I am 16-year-old boy. I was chatting with friend andu00a0 we got onto the subject and he said he often wakes up 'fully erect.' It happens to me too. My question is: Why does this happen? Maybe its a stupid question but I realised Iu00a0 don't know why.

GP

Dear GP,

It's called morning wood, and most guys get it. Someu00a0 are associated with erotic dreams, and some are to a need to urinate. Read somewhere that it's due to full bladder. Men go hard and soft throughout the night due to sleep patterns etc. But usually waking up with one is due to needing to visit the loo.

I really love her but she isn't with me

Dear Diana,
I am a 21-year-old guy. My girlfriend who I was happy with, decided to split with me.We have been best friends for four years and we broke up because of stuff it was my fault, not hers really. I want her back, and I've tried, but she is now with my best friend and says she's happy. We're still friends but I really love her and miss her. I want her back, how can I achieve this?

KV

Dear KV,
She broke up with you because of something you did. I would've said apologise to her, and try to win her back. But she is now qwith another guy -- your best friend -- and she says she is happy. So just leave her alone. I would suggest stay friends with her. Also if she tells your friend that you want to get back with her, it might cause stress between you and your buddy. He didn't make a move on her when she was with you. They became close after you and she broke up, and I think you should accept that, and respect that. Accept she is gone, take some time out and move on from her. There are other girls out there
