Amidst the lush green vegetation surrounding the mountain ranges of Nakhind and Mhasmaal, Chanderi Fort emerges like a masterpiece crafted with nature's best hands. Situated at a height of 2,330 ft, the hill fort, now in ruins, offers a beautiful view of the surrounding area as well as presents one of the toughest trek routes around Mumbai.
Bharamanti365, an adventure travel company, has organised a one-day trek to the Chanderi Fort. Although, there is not much history associated with Chanderi, the hill fort is a hot favourite among trekkers, mostly because the route to the fort is considered to be one of the most difficult trek routes around Mumbai.
Apart from the fort, one can also enjoy the water streams that are in their full glory during monsoon.
How to reach: The fort is accessible from Vangani on the Central line. Board any Karjat slow local from CST or any other station on the Central line. Get down at Vangani. Take an auto to Kasgaon, from where you can walk on foot to Chincholi. The climb to Chanderi begins there.
