As part of the Kirloskar Vasundhara International Film Festival, there will be an exhibition and a workshop on photography. The theme of the exhibition is âEnvironment through my lens' and âConserve Water, Safeguard Future'. The exhibition will feature 60 to 70 photographs by amateur photographers.
Also on display will be photographs from last year's Sanctuary Asia Wildlife Photography Awards. The awards were constituted in the year 2000 to celebrate our rich, natural heritage.
The images received this year underscore the threats to the living systems. Hundred of the best photographs that have been shortlisted will be exhibited. There will also be a workshop that will be conducted by Sudhir Shivaram and Sandeep Desai whose photographs will also be exhibited.
Shivaram is a wildlife photographer who is committed to the cause of wildlife conservation and follows ethical practices while photographing his subjects in the wild. This green evangelist campaigns for wildlife protection around the world and tries to raise awareness about nature and wildlife.
Desai is an amateur wildlife photographer from Pune. He has captured the great jungles of India in his photos. He is a part of the group Go Wild Travel and Photography that is working towards responsible tourism. They organise photography tours and wildlife tours in the company of experts.
"I will train people on where to buy a camera, basic techniques of photography and how to handle a camera," said Desai. Shivaram will be teaching participants on how to shoot photographs.
