A group of moms wearing babies
Keeping an eye on your infant can be challenging when you are the multi-tasking super mum kind. To aid such mothers on-the-go, Mumbai Sling Library has organised a baby-wearing workshop this weekend to demonstrate types of carriers such as wraps, Mei Tais, buckled slings and pouches. "This concept dates back to the Paleolithic Age where women would wear the baby as it was easier to carry out daily activities," says Rashmee Gajra Bhatia, a certified baby-wearing educator and founder of the platform. "The baby is content, and it is easier for the mother to feed. Exposure to external surroundings create pathways in the baby's brain," adds Bhatia. "It also regulates the body temperature of the baby," she explains.
Experts will provide guidelines on what to look for in a carrier.
