Popular chick-lit author Anuja Chauhan gets candid in our rapid fire round

Q) If not a writer, what would you be?
A. I'd be a carpenter or I'd be a tailor. Actually I'd be a very good tailor. I have a sewing machine; I do a lot of my own stuff and I'm good at it.

Q) What genre would you like to experiment with?
A. Maybe a crime novel, but essentially something that is happy. I'm not a fan of depressing literature.

Q) Teenage girls swoon about your male characters. Do real men inspire them?
A. Yes! Some of them speak more smoothly than their real life counterparts.

Q) What are you currently reading?
A. I just finished reading a biography on Shammi Kapoor and one on the works of Hrishikesh Mukherjee.

Q) Favourite recent movie
A. The latest Star Wars movie.

Q) Favourite book
A. A Suitable Boy by Vikram Seth.

Q) Tip for young authors
A. Keep it authentic.
