The Nuttyway, a newly-launched gourmet granola brand gets the balance right; now, if only they go easy with ingredient portions
Granola jars in different flavours
Nattily packed in tight, plastic bags, three granola bars arrived at our office on a mid-week afternoon. These were from The Nuttyway, a new gourmet granola brand by Minali Gaba. Besides the bars, the brand also offers a granola jar range that can be used as spreads on toasts.
Chocolate granola bar
In the pipeline are granola sandwiches and popsicles. The three flavours that reached us included Chocolate, Blueberry, and Chocolate with Peanut Butter. Each bar was priced at '75 (about '15 more than store-bought
versions), not bad, we thought for the quantity offered.
First up, we tried the Chocolate with Peanut Butter granola. We liked the crunch of the granola - a mix of rolled oats with nuts, honey, cereal, seeds and dried fruits - that blended well with the flavour of peanut butter.
The hint of chocolate gave it an extra kick. We'd surely pick this one for a grab-and-go snack. Though, we wonder how healthy the dose of peanut butter and chocolate really are, for a calorie-conscious person. Next, was the Chocolate granola bar, again loaded with different cereals and seeds (we wonder what natural sweetener is used). This was slightly less crumbly than the peanut butter version and had a hint of cinnamon in it.

Not as good as the previous pick. Our last sampler was the Blueberry flavour, which sadly had just two berries in it and was high on spices, which didn't compliment the minimal berry flavour well. From the trio, the Chocolate with Peanut Butter was our favourite pick, and we wouldn't mind opting for the other two albeit a few tweaks.
Available at Bombay Salad Co, Bandra (W) and The Consumer Store, NSCI, Worli.
