A create-your-own salad bar based in Hong Kong and New York City called Just Salad has created an online dining component to match up singles into couples based on their salad tastes and healthy eating lifestyles.
On September 13, the online edition of the restaurant industry news QSR (QSRmagazine.com), noted Just Salad's "reputation as a midday meet market has been a point of pride for the Just Salad team -- so they decided to create a free online dating site for customers. And SaladMatch.com was born."
Nick Kenner, the concept's managing partner, said, "So much of our brand is just about having fun, and this is just kind of another way for our customers to have fun when they're not actually in our store."
If you are looking for a "salad soulmate," all you have to do is create a free profile on saladmatch.com and your 'best' mate will be selected based on "which Just Salad location you frequent, when you frequent it, and what ingredients you love in your salad."
Similar to other online dating sites (eHarmony, Match.com, Zoosk.com), SaladMatch.com boasts a "state-of-the-art matching algorithm" and guarantees your will have lunch or dinner tastes in common.
There are also a host of food-friendly dating sites for those with special diets (VeganPassions.com, VeggieDate.org, VeganDating.org, KosherSeek.com, Muslima.com and GlutenFreeDate.com via Gluten-Free Faces).
