The Coastal Food Festival at Mumbai's popular 180 Degrees restaurant has kick started from November 3. The 10-day food festival will treat epicureans of the city with regional culinary delights and bring forth the spirits of coastal India.
The food spread consists of delicacies from the Western Coastal belt of India, which stretches from Maharashtra's Malwan region to Kerala's Malabari region and includes Goa and Mangalore in between. So, the culinary space of the food festival will be a beautiful combination of Malwani, Konkani, Goan and Mangalorean flavours.
The food spread includes regular dishes as well as unusual ones. It caters to both our vegetarian and non-vegetarian friends of the city. Some of the signature vegetarian dishes that you get to try here includes Cabbage Poriyal, Beans foogath, Mushroom xacuti, Avial pachdi and Thoran. Non-vegetarians and seafood lovers can savour delicacies like Karimeen, Tawa Fry from Kerala, Fried Bombay Duck (taleila bombil), Crab Malwani, Ambaradi, and Phannas Vadi from Mumbai and Mangalorean fish curry.
