Yellow Bar All Day attracts you with its tripy al fresco section and fresh flavours

Yellow Bar all day
Food: Good
Service: Quick
Ambiance: Warm
A cabana, wooden chairs, fairy lights and upside down pots - Yellow Bar All Day got us comfortable in a moment. Thanks to the pleasant winter that's hit Mumbai, we chose the al fresco section (there is a yellow-lit bar inside). On offer are a variety of European and Mediterranean dishes. This has been a trademark in restaurant menus designed by chef Davide Cananzi (this reviewer has spotted veiled avatars of similar dishes across menus too).

The prices are on the higher side, so we chose smartly. To wet our throats, we called for Mexican Cha Cha (Rs 425, prices exclusive of taxes) and Singapore Sling (Rs 400) cocktails. The Mexican Cha Cha, with black currant, tequila, triple sec and lime juice, was not outstanding, but Singapore Sling saved face with a fizzy sweet balance. From their (highly-priced) snacks sections, we picked Deep Fried Tomato and Mozzarella Mini Calzones (Rs 425) and Yellow Special Boneless Chicken Wings (Rs 475).

Calzones were stingy on the stuffing
Despite being deep fried, the calzones were light. But , they needed more of the tomato and cheese sauce filling. A blue cheese dip made up for the lack of flavour. Prepared in a sweet and spicy BBQ sauce, the chicken wings left us licking our fingers, the de-boned meat was a blessing.
Picante pizza topped with spicy salami and olives
Yellow Bar also offers pricey snack platters (Rs 800 to Rs 1,250) that would serve two. From the mains, pick from several pasta and risotto options and even classics like Shepherd's Pie, Lamb Chops and a host of grilled meats. We ended our meal with Picante Pizza (Rs 525) from the special pizza section. A thin crust base topped with spiced tomato sauce, salami and olives, it was the highlight of our meal.

The al fresco section makes for a pretty dinner place
Though not easy on your pocket, Yellow Bar offers simple but flavourful dishes that we would love to try again at their pretty al fresco section.
