The menu features delectable seafood dishes
DiveI into a meal that gives you a peek into the cuisine of the Koli community, the original inhabitants of Mumbai. Organised by Facebook group Foodies In Bombay/Mumbai in association with home dining platform Authenticook, the meal will be hosted by the Tapke family from Versova Koliwada.
The ladies of the Tapke household will host the meal
Seafood takes centre stage at the table, and you can expect dishes such as Ribbon Fish Soup, Squid Kheema, Surmai Fry, Mori Fry and Kolambi Cha Ambat. A special winter dish that promises to be a lip-smacking treat is the Bambooke Bombil, which features fried Bombay Duck that has been half-dried outdoors on bamboo scaffoldings. This dish can be found only in Koli homes, and the recipe is kept secret. End your meal with Khobrya Cha Khirapat, a sweet dish made with roasted coconut and mawa.
Later, interested participants can accompany the hosts on a short walk to the spot where the fishing boats dock, and the wholesale market where the catch is sold.
