Participants must finish the 50-km race in eight hours
If you've always wanted to run a marathon or don't have time for a long-term exercise routine, then sign up for the third edition of this ultramarathon.
Organised by Sportsman, a sports event production and management outfit, this run stands out due to the challenging distance - 50 km. Another factor that makes it unique is the scenic route of the run. And though this, it presents the twin challenges of climbing to the Kanheri Caves and then Gandhi Tekdi at the end of the race. Though these are difficult terrains, you'll have ample of help, and the view will certainly be worth it. The race that is open to all has made sure that the experience remains pain-less, with care booths along the route to provide the necessary guidance and aid, as well as a post-run unwinding session that includes an ice block zone, physiotherapy, besides medical attention, and a signature post-marathon meal. The cut off time for the 50 km is eight hours, so if you're signing up, make sure you start training and warm up in advance. For those who find the distance too daunting, there is a 25 km and 12.5 km option to participate in.
At February 22, 5.30 am to 3 pm
On Sanjay Gandhi National Park, Western Express Highway, Borivali East.
