The hectares of forests cut or burned down have already increased as you've finished reading this sentence. And it's time to do good to yourself and to the planet. This monsoon, grab an opportunity to do just that. Sign up for a trek that winds through Sanjay Gandhi National Park's Shilonda trail and makes a difference to the environment at the same time - through seed bombing.
In order to tackle the city's deforestation woes, the folks at Trip 360 have clubbed sustainability along with their trekking agenda. Seed bombs or seed balls have a variety of seeds rolled within a ball of soil and cow-dung. "The seed bombs we will be providing are of a variety suited for the Sahyadri region," Rohan Prakash, the business head of the company, tells us. Trekkers will get to throw seed bombs on flat surfaces as they make their way through the 8-km trail.
