A new multi-lingual hip-hop EP shows how you don’t need to understand the words to enjoy music

There are times when it can be difficult to grasp the lyrics of a hip-hop track when the rapper is spitting rhymes at a dizzying speed. It can get quite impossible when you don't understand the language at all.

That's the case with a new EP named Kan Agam for those who don't follow Marathi, which is one of the languages the lyrics are in, apart from Hindi and English. But hip-hop is a genre where words often act as instruments, giving the tune its rhythm and flow. You don't need to understand them to enjoy the music.

The Hindi and English lyrical elements reveal that this EP - in true hip-hop fashion - takes the powers that be to the cleaners. Pune-based producer Khakiee and rap crew Street Force have joined forces with Bamboy from Mumbai to create it. The trio has a raw edginess, giving the album an endearing quality.
