Thread and lace bottles
Like many others, Jai Wadia-Madan, a former corporate communications professional, reconnected with a hobby last year. The 49-year-old took to upcycling glass bottles lying around the house. As word spread about her love for giving old wine bottles, beer growlers and rum pitchers a new lease of life, GlassArt by Jai was born.
Decoupage art bottle
"Waste management has always been an important part of my life. I already had a lot of bottles at home. My helpful scrap dealer Jayantibhai also keeps aside bottles in unique shapes for me," she shares, adding that she hopes to raise awareness about the importance of upcycling and recycling through her art. The bottles come in different designs, including decoupage art, with fairy lights, in jute and lace work, mandala patterns and more.
