Thousands of Hindus take holy dip on first major bathing day of Kumbh Mela

Tens of thousands of devout Hindus took a dip in the waters of the river Godavari to cleanse themselves of their sins, marking the first major bath of the Kumbh Mela (pitcher festival) in the Nasik on Wednesday.
