Nair's ornaments sold to jewellers in Mumbai

Cops have secured extended police custody of the three accused, maintaining that they have to recover various articles, including those of the victims, which the offenders either discarded or sold off


The three accused in the sensational kidnapping and murder case of Vinod Broker and his female secretary Usha Nair, have been remanded in police custody once again, this time till May 13.u00a0

While making the request officials from the Koregaon Park police station told the court that they have to recover several items from the accused, which they had appropriated from the victims and then abandoned or sold off at various places.

Meanwhile, police have recovered a pair of shoes belonging to Broker from Malshej Ghat, which was dumped by the accused while returning from the crime scene.

"We are yet to recover the other pair as they might have chucked it somewhere else. However, we are going to take the accused to the spot where the crime was committed again to recover the shoes, and other articles like wristwatches of the deceased, the original number plate of the Innova car, the nooses used for strangulation etc," said senior inspector Shivaji Kamble of Koregaon Park police station.

He said that while arguing for further police custody, public prosecutor Suchitra Narote told the court that cops would need time to recover the car of Broker which taken by the accused from his Konark Enclave flat in Bund Garden.

"The accused had pinched a gold chain and other valuables of Nair and, after going to Mumbai, they sold it to some jewellers. These valuables too have to be recovered," said Kamble.u00a0
