A case was registered against the students under the provisions of Bombay Police Act with Hinjewadi police station which comes under the jurisdiction of Pune city police lastmorning.
Inspector (crime) AT Waghmare said, "Mass communication, arts and managements students had organised a party as their college started last week. The raid took place at 3 am and we detained 50 boys and 12 girls. They were in an inebriated state. Some of the students had come to Pune that same day from other cities."
Inspector Suresh Bhosale in-charge of Hinjwadi police station said, "The students from other cities made loud claims that if such an incident had taken place back home, they would have shown police their stand. The students did not have proper permits to organise a party in Narhe village nor did they have alcohol permits.
The police got a tip off after locals complained about the noise levels. We found more than 10 bottles of foreign liquor and 20 bottles of beers worth Rs 7,000."
According to Bhonsale, 21-year-old Neerav Jamtani, who is a resident of Parihar Chowk in Aundh, owned the farmhouse.
A separate case has been registered against him and he has been taken into custody.
The medical reports are awaited. Cops took an undertaking from the students and alerted their parents and their colleges.
