Prabhakar Sail’s mother Hiravati and his brother Santosh at their Andheri home on Monday
As the state government agreed to give police protection to Prabhakar Sail who has made sensational allegations against NCB officer Sameer Wankhede and KP Gosavi, the panch witness in the Aryan Khan case, cops visited his two addresses in Andheri on Monday.
mid-day also met his family members there. While Sail apparently stopped living at his wife's house two years ago, he left his brother's house 4 months back.
Earlier, Sail lived with his wife and their two daughters, aged 7 and 9, on Road no. 3 at Sahar Village, Andheri East. His father-in-law said, "After Sail submitted an affidavit, a police officer visited our home and inquired about him. We told him that he had not been here for the past two years and we are also not in touch with him. The officer said he was here to give protection to him."
Gosavi's father-in-law added, "I am more than 70 years old and I am taking care of my daughter and her two kids at this age. Prabhakar is not worried about the kids and his wife. After this incident, I tried to contact him but he was unavailable."
mid-day visited Sail's other address at Koldongri, Andheri West, where his mother Hiravati and brother Santosh live with the latter's family. Hiravati said they are too scared.

"A person claiming to be a police officer barged into our house. He demanded to know the whereabouts of Sail. The man was in civil dress and kept telling us that it would be harmful for us if we didn't share the information about Prabhakar. I called my neighbours who asked him to show his ID, but the man escaped through the staircase. We're worried because of this. We tried to contact Prabhakar but he is not available."
Santosh said his brother was a security guard and later got promoted as bodyguard. "He had no work during COVID last year. I fought with him many times as the entire responsibility of the family is on me. In July, he told me Gosavi had hired him as his bodyguard. He told us that he would stay there and would visit home only during Diwali."
Santosh said his mother is traumatised because of the current episode. "My mother has blood pressure problems and she became more ill after a stranger visited our home. We all are very tense. We have no idea if Prabhakar is safe or not." he said.
DCP Manjunath Singe told mid-day, "We have given Sail a high level of security after we received his request letter. Our team visited both his houses at Andheri but he was not there. Later, we found him at some other address. We can't share more about his present location but he is safe under our protection."
