Maharashtra: Man cheats people on pretext of giving jobs, kidnapped by his victims; 9 held

The accused claimed that the man cheated them with the promise of jobs and they abducted him after he failed to return s and their money.

A man, who allegedly cheated people with job promises was kidnapped by nine people recently in Jalna district of Maharashtra.

The incident took place on January 14.

The abducted man has been identified as Vithal Singh Jarwal. He was kidnapped in an SUV from near a bus stand. With the help of CCTV footage, the police got the number of the SUV used for the crime, and began surveillance, stated a report in Mumbai Mirror.

"We chased them through Ahmednagar, Kolhapur, and Satara over 16 hours to nab them," said Sadar Bazar police station inspector Sanjay Deshmukh. Following that, nine people were held and Jarwal was rescued. The accused claimed that the man cheated them with the promise of jobs and they abducted him after he failed to return documents and their money.
