A group of people reportedly belonging to a right-wing outfit smashed the display boards of a theatre screening Shah Rukh Khan starrer 'Pathaan' in Bhayander in Thane district on Sunday evening, a police official said.
A video of the mob shouting slogans against Khan and the film has gone viral on social media, he said.
Nine persons having been detained by Thane Police in this connection and the process of registering a case was underway, he added.
Film Pathaan has been facing protest even before it was release. Despite protests, the movie have got a massive response worldwide.

After sweeping off the box office with it's opening numbers Shah Rukh Khan's latest release, 'Pathaan' has collected 51.50 crore on day 4. Besides Shah Rukh Khan in the titular role, 'Pathaan' also stars Deepika Padukone, John Abraham and Ashutosh Rana in pivotal roles.

The movie which stars SRK as a RAW agent has significantly broken the weekend marks previously held by superstar Yash's 'KGF 2' and SS Rajamouli's 'Baahubali 2' with a three-day total of almost Rs.160 cr nett (Rs. 140 cr nett).
On day 2, Pathaan collected 68 crore nett in Hindi format, while dubbed formats earned Rs. 2.5 crore nett. The total India collection on Day 2 was Rs. 70.50 crore nett (82.94 crore gross). It thus became the first Hindi film to breach the Rs. 70 crore nett collection on a single day. Meanwhile, the overseas collection was also incredible as it collected 30.70 crore. On Day 3, the film collected 38 crore.
