A 34-year-old man was injured after he reportedly accidentally fired from a revolver while trying to threaten a woman singer working at a bar in Navi Mumbai, the police said on Wednesday, according the PTI.
The man, who worked as a fabricator in Badlapur area of Maharashtra's Thane district, was reportedly in love with the 23-year-old woman since the last two years, as per the PTI.
According to the news agency, there was some dispute between them because of which the woman was not responding to his calls, senior police inspector Anil Patil from Panvel taluka police station said.
The man, in a fit of anger, allegedly went to the bar located at Kongaon in Panvel at around 1.15 am on October 28 and asked the woman why she was not responding to his calls.

He also pulled out a revolver and pointed at her. The man then accidentally fired from the gun and suffered injury in his abdomen, the official said.
He is currently undergoing treatment, the official said, adding that a case has been registered against him under Indian Penal Code sections 338 (causing grievous hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others) and 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) and provisions of the Arms Act, the police added.
Meanwhile, in an another incident in Navi Mumbai, the police reportedly registered a case against 10 men on charges of sexual harassment of women and rioting during a discussion on gram panchayat poll preparations in Navi Mumbai, an official said on Wednesday, the PTI reported.
According to the PTI, four women were injured in the incident which took place on Tuesday at Nhavagaon in Panvel, the official from Nhava Sheva police station said.
The women from the village were holding a discussion on preparations for the gram panchayat elections scheduled on November 5, senior police inspector Sanjeev Dhumal said, the news agency reported.
The accused arrived there and picked up a quarrel with the women. The accused allegedly tore the dress of one of the women, attacked the other victims with iron logs and abused them, the police said, as per the PTI.
Based on the complaint, a case was registered against 10 men under Indian Penal Code Sections 354A (sexual harassment), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) , 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace), 143, 149 (unlawful assembly) and 147 (rioting), they said.
A probe was on into the case, the police added.
