Over a month after 30-year-old Faqrudin Sayyed Ali lost his job following his arrest in a drugs-and-gun planting case, he got it back on Monday. The Shahu Nagar police sent an email to the company where Sayyed was working, mentioning that he was wrongly framed in the case. They further requested the company to give him back his job and position.

Faqrudin was working as a team leader in a mobile company and had more than 20 people in his team. However, after he was arrested in the case, his brother Sadik Sayyed got a call from his company and the person on the other side informed him that he had been terminated from the job. Faqrudin and his friend Gopal Mooponr were arrested after 485 grams of MD drugs and a gun with bullets were recovered from his Matunga Labour Camp residence on November 26.

Speaking to mid-day, Faqrudin said, "On Friday, I received a call from my company and they said that I had been reinstated. I am very happy on getting back my job. I have worked really hard to get this post of a team leader. I joined office on Monday after the Shahu Nagar police sent a mail to my company saying that I was innocent and had been released on bail. The cops also told me that my name would be removed from the police records. I'm thankful to mid-day for helping me get out of this problem."

mid-day reported a number of stories on how Faqrudin and Gopal were arrested on November 26 following a raid in their house. The duo had claimed that the cops planted the drugs and gun and tried to frame them in the case.

During investigation the Shahu Nagar cops checked the CCTV cameras in the area and found that arrested accused Nicolas Pandian got the drugs and gun planted at Faqrudin's house to break his marriage with his fiancee. Faqrudin was supposed to get married in November, just two days after he was arrested. He told mid-day, "I'm planning to get married in February next year."

Another accused, Naeem Qureshi has also been arrested in the matter for planting the drugs at Faqrudin's house at the behest of Nicolas. Naeem was seen carrying the box in CCTV footage. Investigation further revealed that the accused had crushed Crocin and Ajinomoto to make it look like drugs. However, the police have sent the seized drugs for a forensic analysis and are awaiting the report.
