A buoy that was seized from accused Mithu Singh’s house had bloodstains on it
The forensic report from JJ Hospital recently confirmed that the blood found on the buoy seized from accused Mithu Singh's house, is that of a human being. A forensic team has taken blood samples of the father of the missing MBBS student, to check if it matches with the blood from the buoy.
Unit 9 of the Mumbai Crime Branch is investigating the case of the 22-year-old MBBS student from JJ Medical College, who is missing since November 2021. At least 15 months after she went missing, the crime branch arrested two lifeguards from Bandra Bandstand for allegedly kidnapping and killing the girl there, and then dumping her body into the sea at a location from where bodies never come out.
The officials have said that the father of the girl, who was not ready to give his blood samples as he doubted the police's investigation, and claimed that they were trying to frame the accused Singh and his childhood friend Abdul Jabbar Ansari to close the case; gave his blood samples after doctors showed him the forensic report, which confirms the blood found on the buoy is of human origin.

"So far, our case is based on circumstantial evidence, and if it matches the father's DNA, then it's going to be one of the strongest pieces of evidence to confirm that the girl has died, and these two are behind her murder," an officer said.
Singh, during his interrogation, has confessed to killing the MBBS student at Bandstand in November 2021 and then dumping her body into the sea using the buoy and the life jacket. The buoy was seized by the crime branch on January 20, 2022 after his confession, and later blood stains were found on it.
The crime branch has not revealed the motive behind the murder. Sources have told mid-day that sexual assault is suspected to be the motive behind the murder.
