Mumbai Crime: 4 miscreants loot Mira Road jewellery shop at gunpoint

The shop owner raised an alarm and the miscreants started to flee. While two of them managed to escape on a bike, the remaining tried but couldn`t start the other motorcycle. Hence, they ran away on foot towards the Mira Road station and escaped.

A jewellery shop in Mira Road was robbed by four armed miscreants on Thursday afternoon, police said.

As per Naya Nagar Police officials, the robbers arrived at the S Kumar Gold and Diamond shop at Shanti Nagar, sector 4, Mira Road on two motorcycles around 2 pm on Thursday. They entered the store, brandished guns and started looting. The shop owner raised an alarm and the miscreants started to flee. While two of them managed to escape on a bike, the remaining tried but couldn't start the other motorcycle. Hence, they ran away on foot towards the Mira Road railway station and escaped.

Amit Kale, Deputy Commissioner of Police, zone 1 (Mira-Bhayander), visited the crime scene and has seized the bike. Investigation into the value of jewellery stolen is underway.

A case of robbery against unknown persons has been registered. Further investigation is on.
