The Nayanagar police at Mira Road have arrested a 55-year-old woman who allegedly killed her 69-year-old husband on Thursday. The police said she is mentally unwell and depressed.
Police said the woman, identified as Rajkumari Gupta, killed her husband Ramesh Kumar Gupta at their flat in Shanti Nagar, Sector 7 on Thursday.
The couple stayed with their 30-year-old son who works for a food delivery app.
The police said the accused hit the head of the deceased with a grinding stone multiple times due to which he died on the spot.

The deceased's son came to know from neighbours about a fight and he rushed home around 4.40 pm. He alerted the police on seeing his father's body lying in a pool of blood.
During investigation, it was revealed that the mental status of the accused is not well and she was depressed due to which she often had fights with the deceased. "On the complaint of the deceased's son we have registered a case and arrested the accused woman under section 302 of IPC," said DCP Jayant Bajbale of Zone 1, MBVV.
