Mumbai: Body of 10-month-old girl found in Goregaon West, waiter detained

A dead body of a 10 months old baby girl was found in an isolated place at Aarey road, Goregaon West on Saturday night.

According to police sources, the baby lived with her parents on the footpath and was missing since Friday night. Police said she was kidnapped and later killed.

Goregaon Police have detained a waiter in this case for allegedl murder of the child. The reason for the murder is yet to be ascertained.

Cops said that the baby was sleeping on footpath with her parents on Friday night when she was abducted by an unknown person and later strangulated.

On finding out that the child was missing, the family filed a police complaint in the morning.

On Saturday morning, police formed different teams to look for the accused. Late that day, the locals found the body of the girl in Shaukat compound at Aarey road Goregaon West.

A murder case was registered and the body was sent for post mortem to JJ hospital.

Through the course of the investigation it was found that a waiter was involved in the crime and was taken in custody. A police officer said, "Earlier we registered a case of kidnapping under section 363 of IPC but now we also added section of 302 of IPC."
