Mumbai Police have arrested a 47-year-old man who used to target weddings and condolence meetings to steal valuables.
The accused has been identified as Shafique Abdul Kudus Sheikh alias Munna, a resident of Shivaji Nagar. Previously also cases have been registered against him, stated a report in Mumbai Mirror.

To escape suspicion, he would wear nice clothes, attend events and commit thefts, said Chembur Police. He would collect information about the venues from newspapers.

Sheikh was on the police radar for a while, but disappeared during the COVID-19 lockdown. He was arrested on Monday. He has admitted to having committed five such offences in Chembur and also in Juhu.
