Mumbai crime: The cyber cell of the Maharashtra Police on Monday summoned rapper Badshah for questioning following a complaint filed by a prominent media company. The complaint alleges that the company held exclusive broadcasting rights for IPL 2023, but unauthorised streaming of the matches on an app and other platforms resulted in a staggering loss exceeding Rs. 100 crore.
The controversy has taken a new turn as Badshah, along with approximately 40 other celebrities, endorsed the app, which is accused of facilitating the illegal streaming of IPL 2023 matches. The rapper's promotion of the app has led to his summons by the cyber crime cell, as they seek to unravel the extent of his involvement.
Further details are awaited.
