On Saturday, the Mumbai Police arrested three individuals, including two minors, for allegedly molesting a woman constable in Vikhroli, according to an official statement.

The woman constable reported that a minor boy inappropriately touched her on Friday night.

"During the incident, when some women who witnessed the act attempted to intervene, another minor boy aided the assailant in escaping. An adult male also assisted one of the two boys," the police official said.

Following the constable's complaint, the police registered a First Information Report (FIR) under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

The Mumbai Police formed six police teams to identify and arrest the individuals involved in the crime.

With the help of CCTV camera footage, the police managed to arrest the accused.

"The investigation is ongoing," the police official added.

Meanwhile, in another incident, A 65-year-old woman was grievously injured in an attack allegedly by her kin for filing a complaint with a gram panchayat in Nagpur, a police official said on Saturday.

Accused Nitesh Narayan Dekate (30) had laid a rainwater drainage pipe which was leaking water into the property of victim Sushila Likhar, a vegetable vendor, leading to disputes between them, the official said.

"She had complained about the issue to the Dongargaon gram panchayat, which enraged Dekhate. On Friday morning, an inspection was carried out of the drainage pipe by officials. In the evening, he stabbed the elderly woman with a knife and slit her throat," he said.

"The woman is critical. Dekhate has been arrested for attempt to murder and other offences," the Hingna police station official added.
