A man, on Friday, made a hoax call to the police claiming that a bomb had been placed in a car parked near the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority office in the Bandra-Kurla Complex.
The hoax call was made a day before the International Olympic Committee meet which is scheduled for tomorrow and Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be in attendance.
"A man called us and said that he had parked a car he drives in front of the MMRDA office and it has a bomb in it. Upon rushing to the site, we found no such vehicle with explosives," BKC Police Senior PI Vishram Abhyankar said.
He added, "We have identified the suspect driver. We are sceptical that he might have called us in an intoxicated state. However, further probe in the case is underway."
