The Mount Mary church in Bandra on Wednesday received a terror threat email allegedly warning of an attack by the terrorist organisation Lashkar-e-Taiba, sources said.
Based on the complaint from the church, the Bandra Police have registered a case under section 505 (3) of IPC against unknown person and has been investigating the matter further, an official said.
According to the complaint filed with the Bandra Police, on December 28, an official with the church received an email that mentioned the terror threat. The email was sent at around 7:28 pm. The sender identified himself as a terrorist.

Sources added that the complainant also told the police that he received an another email the next minute at around 7:29 pm which said, "I am sorry for the mental instability of my child."
The complainant then informed the senior officials from the church and later the matter was reported to the Mumbai Police which registered an FIR in the matter and has been further investigating the case.
