Two Nigerian nationals were deported to Nigeria by the Mumbai Police after being apprehended for residing in India without a valid visa since 2019 in the Santacruz East.
The individuals in question have been identified as Ukaegbu Collins Uzochukwu (36) and Vanatus Okafor Uzochukwu (32). They were deported via a flight from Mumbai Airport to Nigeria.
"The duo initially entered India with Indian visas obtained using passports from the Ivory Coast - a country in Western Africa region. However, these visas had expired in 2019. Following the visa expiration, they continued to stay unlawfully in India. Their presence came to the authorities' attention in June while they were seen wandering in the Santacruz area," said the police official.
Under the guidance of Senior Police Inspector Prakash Khandekar of Vakola police station, Police Sub-Inspector Arun Bandgar, who is responsible for the counter-terrorism unit, along with the team of constables, contacted the DCP of Foreigner Service Section, SB2 to deport these accused.

Respectively, on August 13 and 18, both Nigerians were departed from Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport to Nigeria.
