A Thane court on Monday sentenced a man from Vikramgad in Palghar to life imprisonment for killing his live-in partner, an official said.
Additional Sessions Judge RV Tamhanekar also fined Ramu Devji Shedad Rs 1,000, said Additional Public Prosecutor Sandhya Harishchandra Mhatre.
Thirteen witnesses were examined while the only eye witness died before the start of trial, he added.
Shedad (51) used to assault his live-in partner Sumitra Dhangde (45) frequently over trivial matters and killed her with an axe at her brother's place on March 28, 2019.
