The salesman, Mukesh Parmar (24), has been captured on CCTV, and the Khar police are now on the lookout for him.

Fake address

Before the outlet was inaugurated on June 22, Parmar was chosen from among 10 men who had applied for the job. Parmar, who claimed he was from Bikaner, Rajasthan, looked "decent" and was hired.

And three days later, while jewellery was being put into the locker around 9 pm, Parmar stuffed some of them into his shirt and pretended to continue doing his routine work before leaving the shop. He has not returned to work since then.

The showroom's manager, Louis Vaz, realised the jewellery was missing the next day and decided to contact Parmar who had not reported to work.
