Cops investigating 4 minors for alleged rape said initial checkup showed no injury marks
The Bandra police, who booked four minors who allegedly raped a seven-year-old girl on March 3-4, are in a quandary over the case they filed last Sunday, as they are not sure if it will stand in a court of law.

For, even though the boys have confessed to the crime, preliminary medical checkup shows no signs of an intercourse or struggle.

The police registered the case at the behest of the trustee of the Bandra home where the accused and the girl, all orphans, live and study after the incident came to his knowledge on April 3, a month after it occurred.
Cops said the preliminary checkup revealed no injury marks on the girl's body; doctors have confirmed this. But according to the statement of the girl, the boys forced themselves upon her. Even the boys have confessed to the same.
Moreover, according to the police, the kids are too young to know what rape consists of.
Both the alleged accused and the victim are unable to elaborate on the incident and seem not to know what exactly they did or went through, cops said.
Two of the boys are 11 years old, the third one is 12, and the fourth is 14. The girl is in Std I.

Nonetheless, the police are waiting for the final medical reports to come to a concrete conclusion, even though initial checkup suggested that no act of intercourse took place.
Meanwhile, they have sent the boys to the Dongri remand home after a medical checkup at Nagpada police hospital.
Bandra Police Inspector Ramchandra Ahir confirmed that a rape case has been registered and the boys have been sent to the remand home. He refused to comment further.

The incident came to light last Sunday during the monthly interactive session between the home's children and counsellors. It was then that the girl told a counsellor and then the trustee about it.
On March 3, she said, two of the boys took her to the home's terrace on the fourth floor to play, and made her lie down and forced themselves upon her.
The day after, the duo told two of their friends, who later took her to the same place and repeated the act.
After the complaint, the girl narrated the same story to cops.

The boys also confessed in their statements to the police. After the stories corroborated, cops registered a rape case.
