This was a part of Sheena Bora's boyfriend, Rahul Mukerjea's statement to the CBI; the investigating agency revealed five statements at a special court yesterday

The special CBI court yesterday opened the five statements recorded by the magistrate in the Sheena Bora Murder case. The five statements are of Rahul Mukerjea, Shubhoday Mukharji, Kajal Sharma, Madhukar Tukaram Killje and Faisal Ahmad.

The sealed statements were recorded by the magistrate under Section 164 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC). A copy of the statements was given to all the three accused: Indrani Mukerjea, her former husband Sanjeev Khanna and driver Shyam Rai.

Khanna's lawyer Shreyansh Mithare had also sought a copy of Rai's statement, but was not included in the sealed envelope carrying the statements. When special judge HS Mahajan asked CBI prosecutor Kavita Patil if Rai's statement was part of the chargesheet, she declined. "You will have to make a separate application for it," the judge then told Mithare. Judicial custody for the three accused has been extended to January 4.

Rahul Mukerjea
Sheena Bora's boyfriend, Rahul, who is the son of Peter Mukerjea, said, "She did not want to pretend to be Indrani's sister. She felt it was unfair that Vidhie was being treated as Indrani's daughter, and she wasn't." The statement further says in February or March 2009, Indrani had gone to Rahul's flat with a colleague.

"Indrani and her colleague came in a car, and my father also came there in a separate car. My father came minutes before Indrani and her colleague, and told Sheena and me that Indrani was on her way and she wanted to separate us. Immediately, Indrani was there with her colleague, and she took Sheena away. My father stayed with me for about one or two hours. I was crying there because Sheena had been separated from me."

Sheena's boss
Sheena had been working under Shubhoday Mukharji as an assistant manager at Mumbai Metro One since 2011. He said, "On the evening of April 24, I got a message from Sheena Bora's official number, asking for a leave extension. She said she was going out for urgent work."

He also said that when he asked Indrani where Sheena was, she had said, "Please respect her feelings; she has some problem for which she does not want to be contacted by anyone." Mukharji received Sheena's resignation letter, signed by her, on May 3, 2012.

Car dealer
Faisal Ahmad, who runs the company that provided the Chevrolet Optra car in which Sheena was murdered, said, "Approximately on or about April 22, 2012, Kajal, the personal assistant called my office and asked for a car they wanted to use. So, I gave one of my cars to driver Shyam Rai, who came to my office and took the car. Rai returned the car after four to five days."

Society manager
Madhukar Killje, the manager of Marlow building - the Mukerjea's residence - stated that a day after the murder, Rahul had come to Marlow but he was not allowed because Indrani had instructed him to not allow Rahul to visit her flat. Indrani had also told Killje to not allow Rahul in her absence, six months before the murder. Killje also said that Indrani had moved a gift deed through which she wanted to transfer the shares on the Marlow house in Vidhie's name after she turns 18.

Indrani's secretary
Kajal Sharma was employed with INX Company from 2002 to 2007 and then worked as Indrani's personal secretary from 2011. She said that Shyamvar Rai was very close to Indrani. "All confidential work was assigned to him (Rai), including personal work. Pradeep Waghmare, the office boy and I would leave the office while Shyam would communicate with Indrani on Skype."
