As Mumbai went to polls on Thursday, the police had identified 169 of the 8,316 polling centers as vulnerable to violence, of which 63 have been identified as sensitive. These sensitive polling centers have been provided with additional security measures, including paramilitary forces.

Out of 63 areas - 49 sensitive zones are in suburbs and 14 in South Mumbai.
