Kalina Forensic Science Laboratory has submitted damning evidence against DJ Anshul Makhija and family in the case of the alleged rape of live-in partner under the pretext of marriage
The Kalina Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) has submitted damning evidence against disc jockey (DJ) Anshul Makhija and his family in the case of the alleged rape of his live-in partner under the pretext of marriage.
Anshul Makhija has been accused of raping his live-in partner under the pretext of marriage
On Monday, the FSL submitted a report on 2,000 calls and text messages that Makhija as well as his mother and sister made and sent to the complainant between December 2015 and January this year, demanding dowry from her for marriage. As per the call and SMS records, the complainant was asked to fork out Rs 4 crore and an apartment as dowry.

The woman, a 24-year-old television actress and model, moved to the city two years ago to learn acting. She met Makhija at a training institute and the two began dating soon after. As per an FIR, filed in January this year, Makhija promised to marry her and took her to his house several times when his mother and sister were home.
The woman became pregnant in February last year and was allegedly talked into an abortion by the DJ. To convince her, he allegedly painted a bleak picture of social stigma and lost opportunities in the film industry following an unplanned pregnancy.
Post-termination of the pregnancy, the woman asked Makhija to stand good on his promise of marriage, but the DJ rebuffed her. She then approached his family members, who allegedly asked her to pay up. The DJ then started avoiding his girlfriend. The actress approached the police when all her attempts for a peaceful reconciliation failed.
The FSL report has been handed over the Oshiwara police. "As per the report, the accused, his mother and his sister were in touch with the victim. We are in the process of adding more sections to the FIR," said an officer from the Oshiwara police station.
The FIR had charged Makhija with rape and his father, Ramesh, with demanding dowry. The two had applied for anticipatory bail in the sessions court, which was rejected. They later moved the HC, before which their application is pending.
