No action against Sadiq Sheikh yet |
Despite their help in tracking down the perpetrators of the gruesome 26/11 attacks in Mumbai, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has not got the charge sheet into the terror probe. Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Deven Bhatri told MiD DAY that they have yet to provide the American agency with a copy of the charge sheet.
Bharti has just returned from the United States where he held important discussions with some senior officials. Police sources informed that the FBI wants a copy of the 11,280-page charge sheet to obtain critical information on the attacks. However, the police do not want to reveal the findings with any other agency.
The charge sheet would have helped the FBI establish any American link into the attacks. There are unconfirmed reports that the Lashkar-e-Taiba has secret bases in and around America. Mohammad Ajmal Qasab, the lone surviving terrorist, is an LeT operative.
