The bodies of nine slain terrorists lying in a city morgue since 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks should be sent to Pakistan or disposed of as per Muslim rites, special public prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam said on Sunday.

"But if Pakistan government refuses to accept them, then the bodies should be disposed off in accordance with Muslim tradition," he said. The independent witnesses have already identified the bodies of terrorists in test identification parade conducted by city magistrate.

Hence bodies can be disposed off as they are not required in the trial, Nikam said. This is perhaps for the first time the bodies have been identified by witnesses in test identification parade, Nikam said.
These witnesses had seen the terrorists firing at people at hotel Taj, hotel Oberoi and other places. Secretary of Medical Education Bhushan Gagarani recently opined that the bodies of terrorists may start decomposing because of humidity and said that his department would give report to police suggesting speedy disposal of the bodies.
