A 41-year-old man allegedly collapsed and died while he was proceeding to Jivdani Temple, which is situated at a height, in Virar area of Palghar district in Maharashtra, a police official said on Monday, the PTI reported.
The incident took place at 4pm on Sunday and the deceased has been identified as Devidas Mahi of Andheri in Mumbai, he said, the news agency reported on Monday.
"He suffered a heart attack while proceeding to the temple on the first day of Navratri. He was rushed to a hospital where doctors declared him dead on arrival. An accidental death case was registered," the official said, as per the PTI.
Meanwhile, in an another incident, a balloon vendor died and 11 children sustained injuries in Latur in Maharashtra after a gas cylinder exploded, an official said on Monday, according to the PTI.

The incident took place on Sunday evening in Islampura-Tawarja locality and the deceased has been identified as Rama Namdeo Ingale (50), a resident of Ambajogai in Beed, he said.
"The cylinder from which gas was being filled into the balloons exploded when children were standing around Ingale. Eleven children sustained injuries, two of whom were shifted to a private hospital on Monday for advanced treatment," he said.
"Residents of the area rushed the injured children to Vilasrao Deshmukh Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH)," the official added.
Collector Varsha Ghuge Thakur and Superintendent of Police Somay Munde visited the hospital to inquire about the injured, while MLA Amit Deshmukh and state minister Sanjay Bansode contacted authorities and directed them to ensure the children are given all necessary facilities as part of the treatment.
In an another incident on Sunday, a 65-year-old man reportedly jumped into the creek near Babaji Patil Wadi in Mumbra area of Thane district in Maharashtra, the Regional Disaaster Management Cell (RDMC) of the Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) said.
According to the RDMC, the incident took place at around 12:53 pm and the matter was initially reported to the Disaster Management Unit by Mumbra Fire Station.
Upon receiving the information, Mumbra Police personnel, along with personnel from the Disaster Management Department and TDRF, immediately arrived at the scene. They were equipped with one rescue vehicle and two boats to conduct a search operation and a potential rescue mission and began a rescue operation.
