The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested two police constables attached to Borivli government railway police (GRP) for accepting Rs 10,000 bribe from a caterer. The caterer had registered a complaint against the two constables with the ACB.
Acting on the complaint, ACB officials laid a trap near the Borivli GRP police station yesterday. When the two accusedu00a0-- Nilesh Prabhakar Devrukhkar and Sukhdev Vithoba Shegar alias Jigaru00a0-- accepted the bribe, ACB officials caught them red-handed in the act.

According to ACB officials, crime detection branch of Borivli GRP had arrested a chain snatcher Raju Patil. During interrogation, Patil told the police that the caterer had helped him sell the chain to a buyer.
The caterer was then called to the police station for interrogation.
The two constables told him that they would not arrest him in the chain snatching case if he paid Rs 30,000.
After a little bargaining the figure was settled at Rs 25,000. Harassed by the constables the caterer paid Rs 15,000 to them. When the constables were forcibly demanding the remaining balance of Rs 10,000, the caterer approached the ACB.u00a0
